Football

Football supplies the widest vocabulary in British betting, and exchange markets on it borrow the same terms, from match odds to over/under. This section gathers that vocabulary.

Decimal prices are standard on exchanges and many apps, while bookmakers more often quote fractions such as 11/4 or evens. Futsal and the soccer wording of other markets sit in the same section, with predictions and tipsters.

Whistle-to-whistle began on 1 August 2019 as an industry code and has no force of law. Before the 9pm watershed it keeps betting ads off television from five minutes ahead of a live event until five minutes after. Premier League clubs agreed on 13 April 2023 to drop gambling sponsors from matchday shirt fronts from 2026/27; sleeves and hoardings remain.
